The Swedish Massage is a very relaxing and therapeutic style of bodywork. It combines oils or lotion with an array of strokes such as rolling, kneading, and percussion to help the body improve its circulation. The benefits of this type of bodywork are wide-ranging and include relief from aches and pains, decreased stress levels in the body, enhanced mental clarity, improved appearance, and greater flexibility.
Deep Tissue Massage works deep into the muscles and deeper tissues of the body, which releases adhesions, restores circulation, and rehydrates the dry fibrous tissue. It employs friction, pressure and vigorous cross fiber stokes. It helps with pain from old injuries, postural distortion, repetitive movement, severe pain from muscle spasms, ischemia, fatigue, and stiffness from immobility, adhesions, and muscular inefficiency.
Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT) is a type of soft tissue therapy used for pain management and recovery which employs static pressure on specific points to relieve pain. Pink Himalayan Salt Stones are heated and massaged on the body to create a deep relaxation to muscles and soft tissues. This allows me to work deeper where needed without causing discomfort. The added benefits of using the pink Himalayan salt stones are: it lightly exfoliates the skin for a soft smooth feel, it gives off negative ions to reduce inflammation in the body, it replenishes and nourishes the skin with 84 trace minerals that help draw out toxins, and it helps balance and neutralize the ill effects of the toxic frequencies we live with each day.
Thai massage is more energizing and rigorous than most other forms of massage therapy. It's also called Thai Yoga massage, because I use my hands, knees, legs, and feet to move you into a series of yoga-like postures and stretches. My clients say Thai massage is like doing yoga without doing any of the work. No oil is applied, so you are fully dressed during the session. A single Thai massage session will help you release stress and relieve pain, and help you function more effectively at work and home.
Structural integration employs soft tissue manipulation with the goal of realigning the body in relationship to the force of gravity. The theory underlying structural integration asserts that often the body's connective tissue is "bound up," thus restricting opposing muscles from working independently of one another. Thus, we aim to loosen the restricted connective tissue by using a practice very similar to deep tissue massage. Practitioners typically prescribe a specific sequence of ten sessions lasting between 75 and 90 minutes in order to "unlock" the whole body.
